Client Privacy Notice

We are registered as a Data Controller under the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation). By choosing to register your animals with us you are entering into a contract with us, and consent to us using and processing your personal data for the purpose of supplying veterinary services for your animals. Where you provide us with personal or sensitive personal information that relates to anyone other than you, you must obtain the explicit consent of the person to whom the information relates both to the disclosure of such information to us and its use by us as set out below. Personal data we hold will amount mainly to contact details (name address, phone numbers (landline and mobile) and email address) to enable us to keep you informed about your animal’s health. This will include, but not be limited to, invoices, reminders (SMS, email, post), newsletters etc. This data is held and used in the legitimate interests of your animals’ health.

You have the right to request what data we hold and for us to correct any inconsistencies.

Please note the medical records of animals are not included under the GDPR, which only relates to personal data.

We may disclose your personal data to third parties only in the interest of your animals’ health; this includes; pet insurance companies, microchip databases, external laboratories, referral veterinary surgeons, drug companies etc. We reserve the right to pass on your details to debt collection agencies should the need arise. 

Visitors to our web site

When someone visits www.dryfevets.co.uk we use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website. If we do want to collect personally identifiable information through our website, we will be up front about this. We will make it clear when we collect personal information and will explain what we intend to do with it.

E Newsletter

We use a third party provider to deliver our e-newsletters. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies including clear gifs to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletter. 

Newsletters are sent out as we have a legitimate interest in keeping you informed about your animal’s health – new treatments, disease information, changes at the practice etc. They will only be sent to current active clients where there is an existing relationship – this means clients who have a registered animal and who have been into the surgery within the previous 24 months. If you do not fit these criteria you must give us consent to continue to receive newsletters.

Your Rights

CCTV is in operation outside the premises and in reception for security and protection. Images are securely stored and deleted in age order. Recordings can be requested in writing

Access to Personal Information

Dryfe Vets Ltd tries to be as open as it can be in terms of giving people access to their personal information. Individuals can find out if we hold any personal information by making a ‘subject access request’ under the GDPR. If we do hold information about you we will:

· give you a description of it;

· tell you why we are holding it;

· tell you who it could be disclosed to; and

· let you have a copy of the information in an intelligible form.

To make a request to us for any personal information we may hold you need to put the request in writing addressing it to the directors.

If you agree, we will try to deal with your request informally, for example by providing you with the specific information you need over the telephone. If we do hold information about you, you can ask us to correct any mistakes.
